WHAT CAMERA TO BUY AND WHAT EQUIPMENT
1.CAMERA
This is question that I see is asked a lot by people who want to get into photography
There is a huge selection today with DSLR, Mirrorless and Point and Shoot cameras.
First question I ask is what's you budget.
You can get cameras and accessories for a variety of prices with different degrees of quality.
Today most favourable selection for fans of photography is DSLR and for those who want to go light Mirrorless cameras.
I will focus more at DSLR as for now, it is my belief DSLR still have the advantage over Mirrorless especially with its Auto focus system and most importantly with the selection of lenses.
You can get good basic DSLR for around 500$ and go all the way to 7000$ and more for the camera body only.
Don't be mistaken, a 500$ camera today is a very powerful tool and can produce amazing pictures in various light conditions.
Which company and what model ?
Well all camera makers today make good cameras, the most known are Nikon and Canon but you also have Pentax, Olympus, Sony, Samsung and more.
I personally like Nikon better but that's my personal preference, before my Nikon I had a Sony DSLR and it was a very good camera which I enjoyed.
2.LENSES
Many believe that you better have a cheaper DSLR with good Glass (lenses) over a good DSLR with cheap Glass.
I personally think best is the middle way, try to get the best glass and camera body you can afford.
You can get a DSLR with its kit lens, these kit lenses are actually good lenses and for beginners its all you might need.
To that you should consider adding a good prime lens like the 50mm f/1.8 which is a very affordable sharp good lens which is perfect for portraits and night photography
For shooting subject in the far you will need Telezooms, there are good 70-300mm lenses made by Canon, Nikon and third party lens makers, these are good affordable lenses
.
3.ACCESSORIES
To that you will need to add flash (Speed light), camera bag, Tripod, Monopod and more and more and more but I will leave that for some other time.
